2005年に誕生以来、注目を集めるアートフェア“VOLTAshow”が今年も６月に開催される。
VOLTAshowとは、Kevi Gupta, Friedrich Lock, Ulrich Vogesの３人のギャラリストによって立ち上げられた今年で３回目を迎えるアートフェア。

従来のアートフェアよりもさらに展覧会に近い形式をとっており、今年度は、森美術館の片岡真美氏、ロンドンのサーペンタインギャラリーのKitty Scott氏を含む計５名のキュレーターや批評家が参加。
さらには、ロンドンのアートフェアであるZoo Art Fairともコラボレーションする。

また、カタログ制作にはDaiwa Radiator Factoryが後援、カタログデザインは日本人デザイナーである下田理恵氏が手掛ける。
VOLTAshowは、ヴェネチアビエンナーレとドクメンタのオープニングの間となる６月１１日から１６日までスイスのバーゼルで開催。ほぼ同時期に開催されるバーゼルアートフェアと合わせ、この６月はヴェネチア（ビエンナーレ）→バーゼル（VOLTAshow、バーゼルアートフェア、LISTE、bâlelatina）→カッセル（ドクメンタ）と周れば世界のアートシーンを一挙に楽しむことができる。
ドクメンタは５年に１度の祭典なので、こんな機会は滅多にないのである。
